Wood Green work with many like-minded organisations to make a bigger impact on the lives of pets and their owners. Among them is the Royal Veterinary College, a partnership which enables us to provide the very best care for pets – as well as help to train the vets of tomorrow. Together for pets and people in the community
Our commitment to always be there for homeless pets goes beyond the care we provide onsite – it’s about supporting people in local communities too. During the early stages of the pandemic, we teamed up with The British Red Cross, local authorities and food banks to deliver vital pet food supplies to those in the greatest need.
Sector groups
Over the years, we've joined a number of organisations to expand our knowledge, champion pet welfare and influence positive change for pets.
Association of Dog & Cats Homes
This is the umbrella group for dog and cat rescue and rehoming groups in the British Isles. Wood Green regularly speak at workshops and conferences hosted by the ADCH. We also sit on the Standards and Welfare Committee and carry out assessments for prospective new members.
Canine & Feline Sector Group
This group is consists of influential organisations who advise the government on behalf of the sector on strategically important dog and cat health and welfare issues and standards. Wood Green is a full member.
Pet Advertising Advisory Group
The Pet Advertising Advisory Group (PAAG) is an advisory group made up of animal welfare organisations, trade associations and veterinary bodies, who have developed a set of government-backed minimum standards which several of the UK’s largest classified websites have agreed to meet. PAAG also aims to raise public awareness of the need to act responsibly when looking to buy pets advertised on websites and in publications, and the need to do research before making a purchase.
The Greyhound Forum
Along with a number of other animal welfare groups, we work with the racing industry to promote better welfare for Greyhounds used for racing.
